Watersports Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Time on the boat is yours to choose the activities you’d like to focus on. We offer waterskiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, tubing, kneeboarding & bodyboarding. Even if you are new to watersports we can help come up with a plan at the beginning of your outing and show you the ropes. We have had children as young as 5 bodyboarding and grandparents in their 70s on waterskis!
Absolutely not, we understand that some people may prefer to ride in the boat as opposed to being in the water and thats perfectly fine. Boat time is yours to use as you wish!

No! All of our charters are booked as a private group charter with the exception of our public fall foliage cruise. Your group will be the only ones onboard for your hourly rate. You can have up to 10 guests on our watersports boat or 12 on our pontoon. Whether you bring out 1 person or a full boat, this will not change the pricing.

We have water onboard for guests however you are welcome to bring your own drinks as well. We cannot have alcohol on our watersports boats. Alcohol is permitted on pontoon boats if guests will not be in the water. Give us a call for more info if needed! When we say boat friendly think grapes, wraps, trail mix, granola bars, etc. as opposed to Cheetos,
messy bbq sandwiches and other crunchy snacks that tend to leave crumbs everywhere.

Yes! We can do dockside pickup on Lake Lillinonah free of charge. When booking please make a note of this with specific address and dock description.

My first recommendation for any boat day is to always bring sunscreen, a towel and a sweatshirt. The sun can be strong and the wind can also make it feel chilly out on the water. Past that feel free to bring a camera, some snacks and a hat if you’d like.

Standard Cancellation Policy:

We require 48 hours notice to cancel an appointment. No shows or cancellations within 48 hours will be charged for their appointment except in cases of severe weather. We are often booked solid and last minute cancellations take away boat time from others who could have gone out.

Weather policy:
If severe weather or heavy rain is expected we will do our best to reschedule your appointment for another day and you will not be charged. Please note, all weather decisions are made 1 hour before appointment as the forecast can change frequently. We still go out if it is cool or lightly raining and only close our operation temporarily for severe weather.

Trip Protection:

Trip protection allows you to cancel up to 8pm the day before your booking for any reason and the full booking amount will be refunded. Trips cancelled the day of your booking will still receive a 50% refund with this option.

Once booked, your confirmation will have specific parking instructions for where to meet us! Call us with any questions at 860-295-4640.

Kids Camp Frequently Asked Questions

Our kids camp program was created to focus on watersports, boating & living the lakelife. We understand that at most traditional camps waterskiing & watersports are most popular activities that kids choose however spots are usually very limited and campers are only given 3 chances to get up on skis or a wakeboard. Here at Connecticut Watersports, we wanted to change that and our kids camp program has been the answer. Regardless of ability level children ages 8-14 are welcome to join us for top notch instruction with no more than 5 other campers in the boat plus 2 of our crew. We want campers to progress their skills, make some friends and enjoy what being on the lake is all about, having fun!
Each camper will get 2 sets (about 15 min each) for their watersports of choice plus at the end everyone can go tubing. Even though 15min sets may not sound like much, watersports are fatiguing and from experience we feel that this is the right amount of time. We also have a couple quick swim breaks, especially when it’s really warm out.
Yes! This is what it’s all about. Even if it’s not your turn behind the boat, campers are still on the boat hanging out with friends, cheering each other on and having a good time. Can you keep siblings, friends, etc. on the same boat? We will work with you to do our best on this and usually we can accommodate all requests however there are no guarantees since each boat only has 6 campers. When your booking please make all requests in the notes section and usually we can accommodate this without a problem.
You’ll be fine! What better way to meet people than out on the boat and away from your phone. Being on the lake is all about hanging out and having a good time in a safe and fun enviorment. No matter your age or ability level, camp is a great place improve your skills or learn a watersport for the first time.
